Welcome to Tyanne’s CreATEtions, aka Cooking with Tyanne!
I am so happy you found me! My name is Tyanne, and I am the founder of cookingwithtyanne.com. The purpose of this blog is to provide people with easy flavorful recipes using basic ingredients anyone can find no matter where they live. The basic ingredients part is important to me because growing up, we did not have many ingredient options in our small town. I am a recipe developer and blogger part time. Being a spicy food connoisseur full time (even though there is not many spicy foods on the blog, I try to make recipes suitable for everyone) is my true calling. My Story
I started cookingwithtyanne.com in November of 2019, after launching my Instagram @cookingwithtyanne in the summer of 2019. To be honest, I did not even know cooking blogs really existed on the internet or that the foodie community existed on Instagram until Covid. I just wanted an outlet to post all of the pictures I had taken of my food over the years so I could delete them from my phone without annoying the people on my personal accounts. Since I just wanted a place to post my pictures, I chose to create a food account on Instagram since Instagram was for pictures.
I chose my username @cookingwithtyanne because I typed @cooking into Instagram and some accounts had their names after @cookingwith. My name is Tyanne, so I went with @cookingwithtyanne. The name Tyanne’s CreATEtions comes from my childhood friend who threw out that name. The “creATEtions” part is spelled differently than the traditional “creations”. It is ATE like “I ate this” to make it more food related. However, making tyannescreatetions.com would mean everyone would have to spell it differently than the traditional spelling of creations in order to find me, which does not sound very user friendly. I opted for cookingwithtyanne.com instead. Plus, I did not want someone to not understand the creATEtions part and think I misspelled creations.
I started my website in November 2019 because I could not figure out how to format my recipes in the caption on Instagram. Instagram has changed a lot since then, however, it was very difficult to format a list of ingredients at the time. I knew Sally’s Baking Addiction was a recipe page, so I knew some people did have successful recipe sites! I created a free website on wix.com to better format the recipes. It was not until the pandemic began that I got serious about my cooking accounts.
In March of 2019, restaurants closed so I had to cook even more than I was before! I also had extra time on my hands being unemployed to spend on my foodstagram so I started posting more. I had 95 followers at the time. I saw an ad on Instagram for Carla Biesinger’s free Instagram workshop. I did the free workshop, and gained over 1,000 followers in just 2 months! That was huge for me to go from 95 to 1,000. I started to take my Instagram game more seriously after her course because I knew it was all about strategy to get noticed.
With taking Instagram more seriously, I learned more things about website blogging as well from doing some research via Pinterest and the web. I learned you can make money from blogging! I also learned about Search Engine Optimization, which my website was not set up for. With this, I realized I was going to have to move all 120 recipes to WordPress so that I had ultimate control over my monetization. After almost two whole months of building my new site on wordpress (a month longer than planned), I finally launched this site!
In November of 2020, I joined my first affiliate program. I made my first sale in December of 2020, and knew I could make some money off of my site. This really made me work harder because I knew the potential my site could have if I put in the work. The sales have just been uphill from there. If you want to know about some of my affiliate programs, click here.
In May of 2021, I graduated college a year earlier than expected and did not know what to do with my summer. I decided to write a cookbook. 45-ish days later, I launched Deliciously Fresh Freezer Meals. It is now available on Amazon.
Keep in Touch
